Fighting for Justice: My Struggle Against Bangladesh Awami League’s Oppression
My name is Koyes Ahmed, and I refuse to remain silent in the face of tyranny and oppression. For too long, the Bangladesh Awami League’s Chatro league leaders have sought to silence dissent and crush any voice that dares to speak out against their corruption and abuse of power.
In 2022, I made the difficult decision to seek refuge in the UK after relentless threats and intimidation from Chatro League leaders. My crime? Exposing the rampant corruption and injustices perpetrated by the Awami League through my writings on Facebook and my blog. Instead of addressing the issues I raised, they chose to silence me through fear and violence.
Their campaign of terror reached its horrifying climax on February 01, 2023, when Chatro League leaders descended upon my home, unleashing a wave of destruction and devastation. They set fire to my house, destroying everything I held dear. My beloved dog, loyal companion through thick and thin, fell victim to their brutality. They spared no mercy, slaughtering other domestic animals and destroying crops, leaving nothing but ashes in their wake.
The pain and loss I experienced that day are indescribable. But even in the midst of tragedy, my resolve remains unbroken. I refuse to be intimidated into silence. I will continue to fight for justice and accountability, not just for myself, but for all those who have suffered at the hands of the Awami League’s tyranny.
It is time for the world to see the true face of the Bangladesh Awami League – a regime willing to resort to violence and destruction to maintain its grip on power. As I rebuild my life from the ashes, I call upon the international community to stand with me in solidarity against this reign of terror.
Together, we will shine a light on the atrocities committed by the Awami League and hold them accountable for their crimes against humanity. Justice will prevail, and the voices of the oppressed will be heard.
